How to choose your Tempur-Pedic mattress

Choose a TEMPUR family

Start with Adapt models for the TEMPUR feel, Breeze models for their cooling-related materials, or ActiveBreeze for powered airflow and warming.

Compare foam with Medium Hybrid

Test the same model in foam and Medium Hybrid where offered. A spring-based hybrid can feel different from a foam build with a similar firmness label.

Match the model to the setup

Check the 11-, 12- or 13-inch mattress profile and selected feel. Treat ActiveBreeze as a mattress-and-base system when comparing the complete order.

Side-by-side comparison

What changes as you move through Adapt?

Adapt offers Medium and Medium Hybrid. ProAdapt broadens the choice to Soft, Medium, Medium Hybrid and Firm. LuxeAdapt offers Soft, Medium Hybrid and Firm; the five-zone ergonomic support layer is specific to Soft and Firm. Test the same feel where available.

Compare Tempur-Pedic models by the features below. Queen starting prices come from the current Healing Touch catalog; the selected feel and configuration may change the total.

Tempur-Pedic materials and construction

TEMPUR material and hybrid builds

Adapt models use TEMPUR comfort materials. Medium Hybrid versions combine those materials with springs, so compare the foam and hybrid versions of the same model when deciding which response you prefer.

Adapt, ProAdapt and LuxeAdapt

Adapt has an 11-inch profile, ProAdapt 12 inches and LuxeAdapt 13 inches. ProAdapt and LuxeAdapt use Advanced Relief material; LuxeAdapt’s five-zone support layer applies to Soft and Firm, not every feel.

ProBreeze and LuxeBreeze

ProBreeze uses Pure Cool material in a 12-inch profile. LuxeBreeze uses Pure Cool Plus in a 13-inch profile. Both combine cooling-related materials with a SmartClimate cover; these are not fan-powered systems.

ActiveBreeze airflow

ActiveBreeze pairs a ventilated Medium Hybrid mattress with the ProSmart Air base. Its powered airflow and warming functions make it a coordinated sleep system rather than simply another Breeze mattress.

Which feels are available?

Adapt offers Medium and Medium Hybrid. ProAdapt adds Soft and Firm choices. LuxeAdapt offers Soft, Medium Hybrid and Firm. Breeze choices differ by model; use the table and product selectors for the currently listed options.

Cover and mattress care

Keep standard TEMPUR mattresses sleep-side up; do not flip them. Cover care depends on the model. Follow the ActiveBreeze manual for its cover and airflow connections rather than assuming standard mattress care applies.

ActiveBreeze components

Confirm the ProSmart Air base and mattress pairing, power access and all components included in your ActiveBreeze quote.

TEMPUR cover care

Read the care label for the selected model before removing or washing its cover. Keep the mattress sleep-side up.

Size, feel and model generation

Confirm the TEMPUR model, generation, size and exact feel on the written order; cooling and support features are not identical across generations.

Tempur-Pedic mattress FAQs

How do TEMPUR-Adapt, ProAdapt and LuxeAdapt differ?

Adapt is 11 inches tall; ProAdapt is 12 inches with Advanced Relief material and more feel choices; LuxeAdapt is 13 inches and adds a five-zone support layer in Soft and Firm. Compare the same feel where possible.

Does every TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt have five-zone support?

No. The manufacturer limits the five-zone layer claim to Soft and Firm. Medium Hybrid has a different spring-based construction; do not apply the Soft/Firm specification to it.

What does Medium Hybrid mean in a Tempur-Pedic mattress?

It combines TEMPUR comfort materials with innersprings. A Medium foam model and a Medium Hybrid are different constructions, even though both include Medium in the feel name.

What changes from TEMPUR-ProBreeze to LuxeBreeze?

ProBreeze has a 12-inch profile and Pure Cool material; LuxeBreeze has a 13-inch profile and Pure Cool Plus material. Feel choices also differ. Manufacturer cooling comparisons describe test conditions, not guaranteed room-temperature reductions.

Is ActiveBreeze the same as a Breeze mattress?

No. ActiveBreeze is a Medium Hybrid mattress and ProSmart Air base system with powered airflow, independent climate settings and warming. ProBreeze and LuxeBreeze use cooling-related covers and materials without that ActiveAir system.

Can I put ActiveBreeze on any adjustable base?

Its airflow functions require the matching ProSmart Air system. Confirm the mattress, base, connections and included components together before ordering; do not substitute another base and expect ActiveAir to operate.

Should I flip a Tempur-Pedic mattress?

No. Keep the sleep surface facing up. Standard Tempur-Pedic mattresses do not require rotation; follow the supplied instructions for your model and the separate ActiveBreeze system manual where applicable.

Which Tempur-Pedic models should I compare in the showroom?

Start with Adapt versus ProAdapt for material, profile and feel choices; compare ProBreeze with LuxeBreeze if cooling-related construction is your priority. Add ActiveBreeze if you want powered airflow and warming. Contact Healing Touch to confirm display availability.
